Estill Master Trainer Spotlight: Holly Aisbett

This Estill Master Trainer spotlight features, Holly Aisbitt, a London based singing teacher and vocal coach who has taught at many leading colleges including Mountview, London Studio Centre, ALRA, East 15 and Italia Conti and runs her own childrens’ music company!

Current home (city, country): London, UK

Where did you grow up?: Swindon, South West England

Why you do you love Estill Voice Training?: The immediacy of getting results. Students can make tangible changes to achieve a specific sound, with specific exercises to help them feel and make a change. The idea that voice is muscular, and muscles can be trained, takes us away from the unhelpful idea of categorising people into ‘singers’ and ‘non singers.’
Biggest professional challenge: Juggling! Co-parenting a small boy alongside working in a college, running a small business, trying to make sense of social media marketing and maintaining a private studio practice.

Last book read: Monica Dickens – One Pair of Hands. A recommendation from my mum that had been sitting on the shelf for ages, a really fun look at domestic servitude in the 1930s. Nothing to do with singing!

Person you would most like to have dinner with: Sandi Toksvig? She seems fun…

Favorite performer: Beverley Knight. SO much skill and virtuosity mixed with musicality and soul.

Hobby(ies): I love gardening! I have a small garden in my North London flat and have been really enjoying growing from seed, taking cuttings and buying too many plants! The recent heatwave has killed off a few though.

Favorite quote: ‘What’s for you won’t go by you’.

People would be surprised to know: I love pandas! (and Andy Murray!)
