After studying music at Strathclyde University and Musical Theatre at Motherwell College, Alan was awarded a full scholarship to study at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD). He graduated in 2005 with a Masters Degree in Musical Theatre. Alan has worked as an actor, singer, musician, teacher, director and composer. Performing highlights include originating the role of Vinne in the UK premier of Once Upon a Time in New Jersey at the Cardiff International Festival of Musical Theatre and featured vocalist in a concert for HRH Prince Charles. Alan has also performed as a singer and musician in various concerts across the UK and Europe.Along with his writing partner, H.R. Bradford, Alan has written two original musicals. "One of Two" a Scottish musical that reached the final rounds of the Highland Quest and The Global Search for New Musicals competitions and "Anonymous" a musical comedy.Alan is currently Course Leader for Musical Theatre at New College Lanarkshire (Estill Educational Affiliate) and works most evenings as a private vocal coach. He also performs with and co-manages "Two Third's Cabaret".Alan was first introduced to Estill Voice Training as a student in 2005 and qualified as a Certified Master Teacher in 2011 after completing the Reeve & Møller Certification Pathway™.
