The soft palate, or velum, is like an amazing “invisible friend’ in singing, because it helps hugely with resonance, intensity and range but…..it’s really hard to feel!
Learning more about it and training it with Estill Voice Training (EVT) can transform your singing and speaking and is the only way to beat a nasal singing or speaking voice. Come along and learn some incredibly valuable skills and get to know that acrobat at the back of your throat!
By the end of the workshop, participants will have:
- practiced the Estill Figure for Velum Control
- had an anatomical overview of tongue, larynx and velum
- explored high, mid and low velum positions
- begun conscious training of the velum
- discovered the acoustic effects of different velum positions
- sung and spoken with different velum positions
