Where did you grow up? Asheville, NC.
Biggest professional challenge: Finding balance between administrative responsibilities leading a big university performing arts school and teaching and research.
Favorite voice book: David Craig, “On Singing Onstage” It’s sort of an old chestnut (with the usual misconceptions about voice), but the exercises on creating subtext and dredging meaning out of song lyrics is fantastic.

Dream vacation: Relaxing in a thatched-roof cabana hovered above the water in Tahiti.
3 Albums (CDs) you would take with you if stranded on a deserted island: Soundtrack to “The Way We Were” and two solo cabaret singers….but I’d need to peruse my many CDs first to make a definitive decision.

Hobby(ies): Architecture, mid-century modernism, international travel, cooking and wine-tasting.
