Since graduating in Voice and Piano from the Birmingham School of Music, Paul has had a wide and varied career as a performer, choral conductor and singing teacher. He has held positions at, amongst other institutions, The Royal Academy of Music, Welsh College of Music and Drama and Birmingham Conservatoire. He is now one of the most sought after Vocal Consultants in his field and is vocal coach to some of the world‘s best known Opera and Concert Singers. Having been Clinical Vocal Consultant at the University Hospital in Birmingham for 17 years, he now works with a number of Harley St ENT consultants  in London, as well as being Vocal health & technique coach to the Jette Parker Young artists programme at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden,Consultant to the New National Theatre Tokyo, Opera Hogskolan Stockholm,  & Goteborgs Operan Sweden, and runs his own private studio in Central London. Paul is in demand worldwide to present courses and masterclasses. From  2005-2015 was International Guest Tutor at the New Zealand Opera School and though no longer associated with NZOS returns  to teach Level 1 & 2 &  Advanced workshops & to give Masterclasses  and mentoring,and is in demand for private studio teaching and examining. Paul has also worked with the casts of many West End musicals such as Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Grease, Fame, and Spamalot, and is regularly engaged by artist managements as as Consultant both for onstage and recording contracts. Paul was Vocal coach and Musical Director on the film Quartet, starring Maggie Smith,Pauline Collins, Tom Courtenay and Billy Connolly & directed by Dustin Hoffman, & was also  Music Consultant for Cosmos/ Working Title Productions on the film 'Oscar nominated 'The Theory of Everything'. In March 2014 Paul was Appointed Full Professor of Opera at  KhiO,National University of the Arts in Oslo Norway.
