 Dr. Rockford Sansom is a vocal coach and educator based in New Orleans, LA. Having spent 13 years in New York City, he has acted in leading roles Off-Broadway and in multiple national and international Broadway tours such as Wonderful Town (First National), 42nd Street (Asia).He has taught voice, speech, and singing at universities worldwide including Beijing University, Seoul National University, Marymount Manhattan College, HB Studios, and others.He has served as a communication development trainer working with Fortune 500 executives and United Nations officials. He is the Editor of the Voice and Speech Review and has published textbook chapters with Words of Wisdom Press and articles in Theatre Journal, Theatre Topics, Theatre Dance and Performance Training, Journal of Singing, and Voice and Speech Review. His book The History of Voice Pedagogy is published by Routledge Press. Rockford holds degrees from Capella (PhD), Central Florida (MFA), and West Florida, and he has teacher certifications from Estill, Knight-Thompson, and Fitzmaurice voice programs, and others.
