Are baritones the most neglected voice? They spend most of their time in ‘chest’ voice and can produce a lot of sound with very little effort. The Baritone ‘Problem’ often begins when they wish to extend range above C4 (middle C) but starts earlier. If the technical approach is wrong, access to the higher range becomes impossible leading to vocal stress, tension, loss of range, huge frustration as well as potential unemployment.

This interactive day will include:

•   Definition of the baritone passaggio

•   Identifying the main causes of vocal limitations in the baritone voice

•   Strategies and practise tips

•   What the Estill Model offers

•   ‘How to’ session and problem solving

•   One baritone’s narrative of rehabilitation and restoration of full range, quality and dynamic

•   Short master class

This course will be led by Anne-Marie Speed, international voice and singing teacher and one of Estill Voice International’s most experienced teachers with Lawrence Broomfield, classical baritone and Head of Singing at Laine’s Theatre Arts.

Suitable for: People new to the model; those familiar with the Model, looking for clarification and consolidation; singers and teachers; students and professionals. No previous experience of Estill necessary.
