Mix, Belting, Speech, Chest, Head, Mix Belt - the terminology of voice can be confusing. The contemporary singer’s repertoire demands that the vocalist be able to make a broad range of voice qualities not just the one that sounds & feels most familiar. Many singers struggle to ‘cover all bases’.

Estill defines voice qualities not just by their acoustic and perceptual properties but also their physiological makeup.  If we want to sound different, we have to ‘do’ something different - so we need to know what that \'different\' is.

In this interactive workshop we will use the Estill Voice model as a starting point to explore & define these 3 most useful voice qualities & their application in different contemporary genres.

There will be live demonstrations , video examples & discussion with opportunity for questions and answers as well as an open session for some participants in the afternoon.

This workshop is for anyone interested in contemporary voice: Singers, teachers, singers - amateur & professional, suitable for those new to Estill Model as well as those who are familiar with it.
