How do you warm up for your practice or for your performance?

How much time do you spend warming up?

How do you warm up when you’ve had a cold?

Even after years of experience, many singers lack a clear warm up/cool down routine. Without a strategy, you might be embarking what Anne-Marie Speed, an Estill Mentor & Course Instructor (EMCI) calls a “wear-out instead of a warm-up”! This workshop uses Estill figures to explore customised warm ups and cool downs no matter the vocal task at hand. It is aimed at singers of all genres, musical directors, choral conductors and voice teachers.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have:

  • had a brief anatomical overview of the voice
  • explored warm ups for the intrinsic and extrinsic muscles of the larynx
  • explored warm ups for the connection of body and voice
  • explored cool downs for both intrinsic and extrinsic muscles of the larynx
  • learned practical ways to warm up and cool down the voice depending on style, genre and a singer's form on the day

Full price: £40
