Are you curious to see what belting is all about?
Have you tried it but found that your voice scratched?
Were you always told you had a very quiet voice?
Belting is part of musical theatre, gospel and pop. In Estill Voice Training (EVT), belting is one of six voice qualities. It is a fun, safe and economical way to make a very loud and exciting sound for those heightened emotional moments in a song.
This session teaches you the Estill set-up for belting from scratch with a short application to singing and speaking.
By the end of the workshop, participants will have:
- had an anatomical overview of the larynx
- practiced cricoid cartilage control
- reviewed the Estill figures for false vocal fold control (retraction) and anchoring
- practiced the Estill figure for belt quality
- applied Belt quality to speaking and singing
