Overview:  

Belt and ‘Mixed’ Voice are staples of musical theatre auditions and all contemporary shows require an understanding of how to move between the two. Understanding the difference physiologically and where and when to move between the two is an essential skill in contemporary musical theatre. 

The day will include: 

·      Defining Belt – what it is and how it is made

·      Defining Mix by genre and show

·      Key physiological differences between Belt and Mix

·      Training objectives and practise

·      Extending female Belt

·      Do men Belt?

·      Short masterclass (time allowing)

·      Q&As

Suitable for: People new to Estill Voice Training as well as those familiar with EVT, looking for clarification and consolidation; EFPs, EMT-Cs, EMTs, singers and teachers; students and professionals.

No previous experience of Estill necessary.
