The Level 1 and 2 Course is for anyone who would like to improve their singing or speaking voice—singers, actors, vocal coaches, drama instructors, speech-language pathologists and other vocal health professionals. Level 1: Figures for Voice Control™ teaches the Craft of speaking and singing and employs exercises that will give you new vocal options for all styles. Level 2: Figure Combinations for Six VoiceQualities™ combines Figure options from Level 1 to produce six voice qualities--Speech, Falsetto, Sob, Twang, Opera, and Belt. This course offers a clear understanding of the voice’s limitless possibilities, along with how to keep it vibrant and healthy. This live course explores each Estill Figure (vocal structure) and Estill Voice Quality(“recipe”) and includes:

  • Introduction to Level 1: 13 Figures for Voice Control™

This course is for anyone who would like to improve their singing or speaking voice—singers, actors, vocal coaches, drama instructors, Speech-Language Pathologists and other vocal health professionals. Level 1: Figures for Voice™ teaches the tools of the craft to add strength, clarity and stamina to your voice! Participants will use EVT’s innovative Figures for Voice™ to learn control of the vocal structures that influence voice quality. Each Figure employs exercises that will give you new vocal options for all styles speaking and singing.

Level 2 combines the Figures from Level 1 to produce six voice qualities: Speech, Falsetto, Sob, Twang, Opera, and Belting. Figure Combinations for Six Voice Qualities™ offers a clear understanding of the voice’s limitless possibilities, along with how to keep it vibrant and healthy. Throughout the day, the new voice skills are practiced in small group sessions. There will also be ample time for questions, discussion, and work on individual repertoire or case studies.

Overview:  Levels 1&2 in Estill Voice Training presented by the UK’s most experienced and qualified Estill expert, Anne-Marie Speed. This five day course will comprise the essential Estill information, Level 1 (13 Figures) and Level 2 (6 Voice Qualities) and will also include a short introduction to anatomy & physiology and a vocal health session. The daily schedule will consist of lecture presentations, video research, audio & video examples, as well as teaching and training tips. Participants will divide into small practice groups throughout the day to receive coaching in the Figures & Voice Qualities. There will also be an Open Session in the evening which provides participants with an opportunity to sing a song or do a speech and receive expert coaching from Anne-Marie. Please note, there is not a requirement for everyone to get up during the Open Session but it is added as an invaluable opportunity to see the work put into practise. 

Suitable For: Those new to the Estill Voice Training, anyone who working with the voice; singing teachers, professional singers, students and amateurs; voice, speech & drama teachers; actors; speech & language therapists with a special interest in voice, EMT candidates. Suitable for all styles of voice, singing & speaking.

Cancellation Policy:

In the event that a participant wishes to cancel their place on the course they are entitled to the following refund:

4 weeks or more = 90% refund

Between 4 -1 weeks = 25% refund

From 1 week to the day of event = no refund (under any circumstances, including illness)

Should The Voice Explained cancel a course, a full refund will be offered.
