Chanter en anglais présente certains défis pour les francophones. Des voyelles différentes, des consonnes peu familières, un rythme et une prosodie nouvelle…Le chanteur doit savoir produire ces sons particuliers et devenir à l'aise avec un rythme de parole différent afin de pouvoir livrer des interprétations libres et artistiques.

Pour communiquer efficacement, il est essentiel d’être compris. Qu'il s'agisse de parler ou de chanter, il est essentiel d’être clair et intelligible. Comment le chanteur peut-il y parvenir tout en conservant une sonorité qui lui est propre?

Cet atelier vous permettra de comprendre comment :

  • Être clair - les différences entre les consonnes de l’anglais et du français
  • Être compris : les principales voyelles de l’anglais
  • S'exprimer avec aisance - Rythme, mélodie et inflexion
  • Être vous-même - Trouver sa propre voix dans une autre langue !
  • Savoir quand vous en faites assez! - Quand votre accent est un avantage !

Le premier d'une série de cours spécialisés sur la parole et la diction, cet atelier abordera la contribution sous-estimée de la parole et de la diction à l'art, à la communication et à l'expression individuelle.

Singing in English presents certain difficulties for francophones not least, unfamiliar consonants, different vowels and significantly different rhythm and prosody. The singer needs to learn these sounds and get comfortable with a different speech rhythm before they can interpret freely and artistically.

Being understood is the heart of effective communication, speaking or singing, so clarity and intelligibility are also essential. How does the singer do this and still retain their own distinctive sound?

This new course will address:

  •  Be clear! - differences between English and French consonants
  •  Be understood! – key English vowels
  •  Sound fluent! - Rhythm, tune and inflection
  •  Be yourself! - Finding your own voice in another language!
  •  How much is ok? - When your accent is an advantage!
