Overview: CCM is constantly changing and it can be hard to stay on top of current vocal and musical trends, even for established artists. As a teacher, there is always a balance that must be struck between ensuring sustainable and reliable vocal production without compromising the unique sound that both identifies the artist and makes them commercial. How can the teacher establish good practise without imposing stylistic choices that are unsuitable for the genre the artist is known for?

The day will include:

•   Educating your ear – separating Style from Strain

•   Key skills – technique for different styles

•   What’s Hot – who to listen to and what it tells you about technique

•   Preparing artists for the studio, live TV and touring

•   Q&As

Anne-Marie has worked with many major artists and singer/song writers over the last 20 years and continues to coach chart topping acts alongside her film, theatre, musical theatre and TV commitments. She was invited to be the Key Note Speaker and to lead workshops for the Singposium „Gesangsausbildung in den populären Stilen“, an international conference on contemporary singing training in Berlin in February 2020 and also to be a Key Note speaker at next year’s International Congress of Voice Teachers in Vienna, Austria.

Tara Wilcox is a founding member of the award winning band, The Wandering Hearts and runs a busy singing studio as well as being a guest tutor in Contemporary Singing at major London drama schools.

Suitable for: People new to the Estill Voice Training; those familiar with EVT, looking for clarification and consolidation; singers and teachers; students and professionals.
