About the presenter:

 Teik Poi Tan is a voice teacher specializing in vocal techniques as well as preventive and remedial voice training for singer.

He studied Künstlerische Gesangsausbildung and 

Gesangspädagogik at the Music Academy of Cologne, focusing on the genres of German Lieder, opera, and oratorio. Later in his studies, he placed greater emphasis on vocal pedagogy. 

As a singer, he has won acclaim for his concert and oratorio performances throughout Germany. As a technical vocal coach, he has worked with many choir conductors and has won numerous prizes at national and international choir competitions. As a result of his vocal coaching engagements and collaborations with various choir conductors, many choirs have performed in major concert halls and opera houses, such as Stadttheater Dortmund and Musiktheater im Revier in Germany.

From 2005 to 2007, he was assigned to instruct singers at the Chorakademie am Konzerthaus Dortmund. Since 2007, he has immersed himself in his work as a children’s and youth choir conductor, and has been appointed as musical director and choir conductor for numerous musical productions and concerts throughout Germany.

 

Teik Poi Tan is currently teaching vocal technique to singers and choir conductors in Gelsenkirchen. He speaks English, German, Mandarin, Cantonese, Malay and Thai (Intermediate)
