This trainer spotlight features EMT Nina Sainato, a singer, pianist, and web designer who used her talents to design the new EstillVoice.com website.

Nina SainatoName: Nina Sainato

Current home (city, country): Pittsburgh, PA

Where did you grow up?  New Castle, PA – about an hour north of Pittsburgh. It is a very unique place with very tight knit community and incredible Italian food.  My extended family makes up a good portion of the population, so there is never a shortage of meatballs, cookies, or company.

Biggest professional challenge: Time management, for sure. Being your own boss takes a lot of discipline. I am currently running a few creative endeavors (that sometimes overlap): web & graphic design (minorkeysmedia.com), professional pianist & singer (ninasainato.com), voiceover studio work, and last but certainly not least, teaching Estill! Deciding how much time to spend on each creative path is difficult, as well as having the discipline to compartmentalize and focus while working from home. At the end of the day, being able to live a life centered around art, in any form, is truly a blessing.

Favorite Voice book:   The Estill Voice Model: Theory and Translation (of course).

Last book read: Miracles Happen: The Transformational Healing Power of Past Life Memories – Dr. Brian Weiss

Person you would most like to have dinner with:  The person that built our 1882 farmhouse! I would love to know what it looked like back then, what day to day life was like, and how they made use of the land.

Favorite performer: Married or not, it would be my husband and frontman extraordinaire, Freddie Nelson (freddienelson.com).

Dream vacation:  I’ve been to many beautiful islands and in truth, they’re all the same.  At this point in my life I think I’d like to take a trip to Europe to explore historic landmarks and architecture.

3 Albums (CDs) you would take with you if stranded on a deserted island:  This is always changing, but a safe answer would be any Danny Elfman / Tim Burton score,  Aerosmith – Nine Lives, and a collection of Chopin Nocturnes.

Item(s) most likely to be found in your refrigerator:  olives, artichoke hearts, & dark chocolate

Hobby(ies): Interior design, decor, remodeling, DIY construction projects, painting furniture – anything to make my living environment (or that of others) aesthetically pleasing.  My style is always changing, so this passion project is as challenging as it is fun.

Favorite quote:  “We must let go of the life we have planned so as to accept the one that is waiting for us.” — Joseph Campbell

People would be surprised to know…  I live in a haunted house.
