Estill World Voice Symposium

To celebrate our world view and multi-cultural interests, Estill Voice International produces an international symposium every two years. In presentations and workshops led by some of our most gifted teachers and invited guests from the scientific, medical and voice training communities, we explore the world of vocal possibilities.

Estill World Voice Symposium

2-4 August 2013, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA

Our Sixth Estill World Voice Symposium will be held at Harvard University.  Attendees will travel through Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

Since our second symposium, we have also celebrated those who have made significant contributions to the field of voice through Estill Voice International's Estill Lifetime Achievement Award.  This award recognizes outstanding individuals who have served as role models to others and have devoted their life-long careers to the advancement of voice research and/or voice education. These individuals have led the voice profession with an open mind and heart, inspiring inventiveness and meeting the needs of others without aesthetic bias.  They have embraced the mission of Jo Estill: to bring voice training into all regions of the world.

Estill Voice Training representatives will be invited to make their 2013 nominations for this prestigious award from the Announcements Page of the Instructor Extranet.

"As a teacher of singing, I have dreamed about a common language for singers, a technical perspective that acknowledges the athletic nature of what we do and the effort that is clearly a part of the package, and a collaborative environment that builds up both teachers and students. I feel that, in order to build a solid program foundation, both teachers and students alike must feel secure in admitting any lack of clarity so that they can open up to continual learning. Treating voice training as an ongoing science, in which we are all helping to flesh out details makes everyone partners in the process, and doesn't invalidate and alienate as some approaches do. In fact, this approach truly invites a team approach to learning."
