Estill Goes Country!
Date: 09/12/2009
Nashville CCI, Diane Sheets, was instrumental in the come-back of award winning Country group, “Diamond Rio.” Their new book chronicles the band’s 3-year struggle to “fix” the voice of their lead singer, Marty Roe. After connecting with Diane Sheets & Estill Voice Training, Marty found his voice again! The final chapters of their new book, “Beautiful Mess: The Story of Diamond Rio” describe the 20-minute session in which Diane coached Marty back to singing form. The book is due out this September and you can find it at www.diamondriomusic.com. Look for the chapter on Estill Voice Training.
"As a teacher of singing, I have dreamed about a common language for singers, a technical perspective that acknowledges the athletic nature of what we do and the effort that is clearly a part of the package, and a collaborative environment that builds up both teachers and students. I feel that, in order to build a solid program foundation, both teachers and students alike must feel secure in admitting any lack of clarity so that they can open up to continual learning. Treating voice training as an ongoing science, in which we are all helping to flesh out details makes everyone partners in the process, and doesn't invalidate and alienate as some approaches do. In fact, this approach truly invites a team approach to learning."
