The 3rd Estill World Voice Symposium gathers vocalists from around the world to meet in Copenhagen, Denmark!
Date: 08/07/2007
The 3rd Estill World Voice Symposium™ (EWVS) was held August 5 – 7, 2007, in Copenhagen, Denmark. The theme was “Nurturing the Versatile Voice.” Estill enthusiasts from around the globe met to discuss this innovative voice training system. Lectures and workshops provided opportunities for Estill Voice Model™ updates, Certification and Course guidelines, and Estill Voice Training™ teaching tools. The concurrent International Association of Logopedics and Phoniatrics (IALP) conference provided a broad scientific back-drop for the Estill voice symposium. Symposium chairs, Helga Westmark and Dorte Hyldstrup, collaborated with IALP conference chair, Dr. Svend Prytz, to deliver dynamic voice offerings to the novice and the expert. “Our partnership with the IALP increased visibility for the important and innovative contribution that Jo Estill made to the world of voice training,” commented Westmark.
Highlights of the symposium included the symposium Gala at which the Estill Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Copenhagen phoniatrician, Dr. Svend Prytz. His early research with Jo Estill strengthened the tenets of the current Estill Voice Model™. In addition, the new Estill Certification Board members, Matthew Reeve, Helen Tiller, and Steven Chicurel were announced. They will join current members, Klaus Moller, Anne-Marie Speed, and Kerrie Obert, in ensuring forward thinking and progress in Estill Voice Training.
