Helen Rowson is a singer and vocal coach currently working in Barcelona, Spain and London and Liverpool, UK.

She first came into contact with Jo Estill’s work in 1996 and since then has worked extensively with the model, interning on courses in Amsterdam and London and has co-presented the original 6 day course in Barcelona and the UK

She was awarded EVTSI CCI licensure with Testing Priviledges in 2003 and currently runs licensure programs at CFP and CMT level for candidates in both Spain and the UK.

Helen was a founder member of the professional acapella group ‘Stupendams’ who toured extensively in Spain and other European countries and edited two records.

From 2001 to 2003 she was the resident vocal coach on the Spanish pilot version of Fame Academy (Operación Triunfo) while she continued her work as teacher and vocal coach for various schools, record and theatre companies. During this time she was also vocal technique teacher at the Liverpool Institute of the Performing Arts and in 2004 co-taught the Estill Voice Model on the Post Graduate Speech Therapy Course at Blanquerna University, Barcelona. Since then she has been invited as guest teacher to the Musikene Conservatoire in San Sebastian, Spain and has presented workshops both in Northern Ireland for TOSINI (Teachers of Singing in Northern Ireland) and at the Royal Academy of Music in London.

Since 2001 she has worked as a vocal coach at the Eurovision Song Contest accompanying both the Spanish and Andorran delegations and will be repeating with Andorra in 2009 in Moscow. She continues her coaching work with record and theatre companies and has worked alongside various of todays top producers in Spain, Sweden and the UK.

In 2005 she returned to performing as guest singer in Luz de Gas and the Palau de la Musica Catalana, Barcelona and is currently singing with the London based group ‘Picture House’ and the Barcelona based group 'Guateque Town.

This year Helen was awarded the Master of Science in Vocal Pathology from University College London and her research will be published in 2009.

Many teachers only allowed me to sing in an opera state even though I wanted to sing pop. I lost confidence in my voice and singing was less than fun. Estill made sense to me.
