This Advanced 1 course is mostly for people who have attended Level One & Two courses at Dansforum in Göteborg or generally in Sweden. The course will focus on repetition of Level One & Two and analysis of problems & solutions/Pedagogical issues and Variation of qualities. We will work practically and integrate figures and qualities into music and also have time to focus on individual coaching/training.

Description
This Advanced 2 course is only for people who have attended Advanced 1 courses with us in Sweden /Dansforum or Stockholm/Kulturama.
Day 1: Focus on advanced qualities (Belting, Opera) + variations of all Estill qualities and we will work on Artistry & diction. Bring different songs to work with.
Day 2: Anatomy, acoustics & Estill Voice Print – preparation of CFP –test.
 

This course is intended for teachers and students of singing and actors. The Level One course teaches the tools to control vocal instrument. Students will learn EVT’s Figures to use better vocal structures are useful to sing every musical genre or to play every character.

This course is open only to those who have already taken a Level One course.
The Level Two course teaches how EVT’s Figures can be used to mix the "recipes" for 6 voice qualities: Speech, Falsetto, Sob, Twang, Opera, and Belting.

This course is open to anyone who has already taken the Estill Level One course – singers, voice teachers, actors, clinical voice professionals, etc. The course begins with an overview of the development of the Estill Voice Model and an overview of this course. We will then work through all the voice qualities: speech, falsetto, sob, twang, belting and opera - by practicing individually and integrating them into singing and different genres of music. The days will alternate between lecture presentations, video research, audio examples, practice sessions and open sessions.

This course is taught in English. German translation and a German assistant are available during course.

Figures for Voice Control

This course can be attended by singers of all kinds of styles, choral conductors, actors, drama coaches, speech pathologists, vocal coaches and professional speakers. Jo Estill developed a system where you can learn to use your voice in a safe and healthy way, improve your technique, acquire possibilities you never imagined to reach.

We work in plenum and practice groups to analyse all sounds of the voice, and see how the voice works anatomically and acoustically, based on scientific research. We watch video’s and demonstrations to learn all the basic figures of Level One.

Deze cursus is geschikt voor zangers van alle soorten stijlen, koordirigenten, acteurs, dramadocenten, logopedisten, stemtrainers en professionele sprekers. Jo Estill heeft een systeem ontworpen waarmee je kan leren je stem te gebruiken op een veilige en gezonde manier, je techniek te verbeteren en mogelijkheden te ontwikkelen waarvan je niet eens wist dat je ze kon bereiken.

We werken in plenaire groep, alsook in kleinere oefengroepen om alle stemgeluiden te analyseren en te ontdekken hoe de stem werkt, anatomisch en akoestisch, gebaseerd op wetenschappelijk onderzoek. We bekijken video’s en demonstraties om alle basisfiguren van Niveau Een aan te leren.

This workshop is suitable for anyone who is interested in learning more about how the voice works and gives an overview of the vocal tract set-up for different voice qualities as defined by Estill.

Figures for Voice Control* & Figure Combinations for Six Voice Qualities

This course is for anyone who would like to improve their singing or speaking voice — singers, actors, vocal coaches, drama instructors, Speech-Language Pathologists and other vocal health professionals.  This Level One course teaches the tools to control vocal instrument. Students will learn EVT’s Figures to use better vocal structures are useful to sing every musical genre or to play every character. The Level Two course (starting on 26 January) teaches how EVT’s Figures can be used to mix the "recipes" for 6 voice qualities: Speech, Falsetto, Sob, Twang, Opera, and Belting. 

Please note: To enroll in the Level Two course one must have already taken a Level One course in Estill Voice Training.

The Complete Estill Course
This complete course in Estill Voice Training is open to voice teachers, singers and speakers as well as singer/songwriters, music producers, dancers and all other voice users. Estill is craft for singers, like fingering for the pianist, the gym for athletes, ballet for dancers or grammar for language.
Learn basic anatomy, how the voice physically functions and how to control the components that change voice quality through kinesthetic perception and muscle training. Emphasis on aesthetic freedom and vocal safety across all styles and genres – from rock to opera, jazz to belting!

Level 1
In Level One, participants will accomplish a basic understanding of vocal anatomy and the physiology of the larynx. The students will be able to increase their kinesthetic perception and maximize their control over their “reed”-instrument. The scientifically researched figures or muscle training exercises allow the voice user to individually monitor, control and adjust all researched muscular structures involved in sound production and therefore safely produce any style or genre specific voice quality.
Each participant will receive individual feedback and monitoring to ensure that all concepts are understood and applied correctly. From the start, the emphasis will be on singing and speaking, both individually and as a group to reinforce technical ideas and ensure correct training of muscle memory.

Level 2
During Level Two, participants will develop mastery of 6 archetype vocal qualities including Speech, Falsetto, Twang (nasal and oral), Sob, Opera and Belting. Additionally, contemporary, classical, and music theatre voice qualities will be studied in order to create a better understanding of how the work can be applied on stage, in the studio and in rehearsals. The client will be supplied with a toolbox of muscular skills, anatomically correct vocabulary and the confidence that anyone can train the muscles of their voice in order to achieve any aesthetic goal.
Finally, students will be able to participate in a master class in order to apply the tools learnt in a group/performance environment. Singers may present pieces of their own choosing, ideally with problems to be solved. There is no pre-requisite nor audition for this course.
