This course is the foundation of Estill Voice Training. In a systematic and innovative way, you will learn to differentiate and control the various vocal structures associated with pitch, range, color, intensity and, most importantly, those that contribute to sustained vocal health.  This theoretical and practical knowledge will start you on your journey toward personal vocal mastery. EVT is applicable to ALL styles of speaking and singing and this course is open to anyone interested in the wonders of the human voice including singers, actors, speech language pathologists and voice teachers.  Participants will apply their new skills in small group practice sessions as well as in individual coaching sessions (Be sure to bring music and/or text!) There will also be ample opportunity for questions and discussion.

Advanced 1 - Repetition of Figures & Qualities and their variations/ pedagogical issues

This Advanced One Workshop is open for people who attended at least one Lev One & Two Course.

The focus will be on repetition of Lev One and Two, more advanced exercises, variations of the Voice Qualities and analysis of problems & solutions / pedagogical issues.

We will work practically and integrate figures and qualities into music and also have time to focus on individual coaching/training.

This Advanced 1 course is only for people who have attended Level One & Two courses.

The course will focus on repetition and more advanced exercises of Level One & Two, some variations of qualities and analysis of problems & solutions/Pedagogical issues.

We will mostly work practically and integrate figures and qualities into music and also have time to focus on individual coaching/training.

A practical and interactive course aimed at giving participants mastery of Estill Voice Training techniques.

The emphasis from the start will be on singing and speaking individually and as a group to reinforce technical ideas. Classical, Contemporary and Music Theatre singing styles will be studied. Tuition will be via masterclasses, small group lessons and ensemble. Each participant will receive individual feedback and monitoring to ensure that all concepts are understood and applied correctly, and will learn techniques that will set them up for a career of safe voice work.

LEVEL ONE - Figures for Voice
Participants will be given a practical grounding in vocal technique, vocal anatomy and physiology that will allow them to approach any vocal endeavour with confidence and skill. The Estill Voice Model teaches differentiated voluntary control of specific parts of the vocal mechanism and an understanding of vocal function.

LEVEL TWO - Figure Combinations for Six Voice Qualities
Participants will develop mastery of vocal qualities including Speech, Twang, Falsetto, Opera and Belting. Application to the singing and speaking voice will be practised. Hone your troubleshooting skills.

Day 1-3            Level I –  Compulsory Figures for Voice (including an overview of vocal anatomy & physiology)
Day 4-5           Level II – Figure Combinations for Six Voice Qualities
 
You will be introduced to each new concept lecture-style with audio and visual illustrations then move into small groups to explore the Figures (vocal exercises) & Voice Qualities in more detail. During practice groups you work on your own voice and observe changes in others under the guidance of a Certified Master Teacher. You can opt to take part in an open session at the end of each day and receive model-specific individual coaching on a song or spoken piece of your choice.

Miércoles tarde habrá una introducción al trabajo de Estill de 2 horas. Esta introducción forma parte del curso pero es también posible asistir solo a la introducción.

El curso de Nivel 1  continua a partir de las 18.30 (ver horario).

Este curso esta dirigido a cualquier persona con interés en comprender y mejorar la voz, profesionales de la voz, cantantes, actores profesores, foniatras, logopedas, directores de corales………

Estill Nivel 1, Las Figuras Obligatorias para el Control de la Voz, consiste en entender, aislar y dominar la fisiología de las estructuras anatómicas que contribuyen a la producción vocal.

El método pretende despejar el misterio existente en el entrenamiento vocal.

El trabajo alterna sesiones de teoría con la practica de las figuras en grupos pequeños, Hay la oportunidad de aplicar el trabajo a canciones y textos en sesiones tipo Master Class. El Sábado tarde habrá una presentación a cargo de Queralt Botey en como aplicar las Figuras de Estill a la rehabilitación vocal.
