This course is open to anyone who has already taken the Estill Level One course – singers, voice teachers, actors, clinical voice professionals, etc. The course begins with an overview of the development of the Estill Voice Model and an overview of this course. We will then work through all the voice qualities: speech, falsetto, sob, twang, belting and opera - by practicing individually and integrating them into singing and different genres of music. The days will alternate between lecture presentations, video research, audio examples, practice sessions and open sessions.

This course is taught in English. German translation and a German assistant are available during course.

Level One Course. Course is for Singers/ Speech therapists /Singing Teachers / Choir Conductors / Actors / Musical Darsteller and will be in the German / Deutsche language, the course material is in English. There will be a Level Two course offered in Aachen from 11-12-2010 to 12-12-2010.

We will work us through all the basic Figures in Level One and end up with a short overview of the Six Voice Qualities of Level Two. We will practice together and individually in small groups, integrating new skills into singing and applying them to different genres of music. The days will alternate between classroom presentations, practice sessions in small groups and open sessions.

Figures for Voice Control* & Figure Combinations for Six Voice Qualities

This course is for anyone who would like to improve their singing or speaking voice — singers, actors, vocal coaches, drama instructors, Speech-Language Pathologists and other vocal health professionals. Level One course (starting on 23 January) teaches the tools to control vocal instrument. Students will learn EVT’s Figures to use better vocal structures are useful to sing every musical genre or to play every character. This Level Two course teaches how EVT’s Figures can be used to mix the "recipes" for 6 voice qualities: Speech, Falsetto, Sob, Twang, Opera, and Belting.

Please note:  One cannot enroll in a Level Two course unless one has already taken a Level One course.

Alberto ter Doest is presenting this course in the german language. He is working with EVT since he met Jo Estill in 1994. He is still researching in the spirit of Jo, especially on how rock effects are made and on the risks involved using rock effects. He works as a soloist, as a professional choir singer (NKK) and as a artistic director/singing teacher at Codarts, Rotterdam, University for the Arts. Lev One: Compulsory Figures for Voice

This course offers a practical and theoretical understanding of the Estill Voice Training System – an innovating method useful for all styles of speaking and singing.

The Compulsory Figures train your vocal structures to gain control, flexibility, strenght and stamina to help you improve the communication of your music or speaking voice. You will get a good understanding of the nature of voice and how to use it in a healthy way as well as tools for analyses, usefull when you work with your own voice or as a voiceteacher or speechpatologist.

The course will include: introduction to the Estill Voice Training System, audio and video examples, sessions where participants work with own songs/speech incl. individuel coaching.

Advanced One Workshop

This Advanced One Workshop is open for people who attended at least one Lev One & Two Course.

The focus will be on repetition of Lev One and Two, more advanced exercises, variations of the Voice Qualities and analysis of problems & solutions / pedagogical issues.

We will work practically and integrate figures and qualities into music and also have time to focus on individual coaching/training.
