Join us in celebrating World Voice Day for this special Estill Voice Training Level One course at Carthage College--conveniently located between Chicago and Milwaukee.  A special promotional price of $185.00 USD includes course registration, meals (our intensive schedule will require that we have lunch and dinner on campus), and materials.  A team of Estill Voice Training Certified Course Instructors will be teaching this course. 

This course is for anyone who would like to improve their singing or speaking voice—singers, actors, vocal coaches, drama instructors, Speech-Language Pathologists and other vocal health professionals. Level One: Figures for Voice™ teaches the tools of the craft to add strength, clarity and stamina to your voice! Participants will use EVT’s innovative Figures for Voice™ to learn control of the vocal structures that influence voice quality. Each Figure employs exercises that will give you new vocal options for all styles speaking and singing.  Throughout the day, the new voice skills are practiced in small group sessions. There will also be ample time for questions, discussion, and work on individual repertoire or case studies. 

This course is presented by Helga Westmark & Dorte Hyldstrup, who were two of the first Certified Course Instructors in Europe – so-called Vanguards. Open to anyone who has already taken the Estill Level One course – singers, voice teachers, actors, clinical voice professionals etc. The course begins with an overview of the development of the Estill Voice Model and an overview of this course. We will then work through all the voice qualities, speech, falsetto, sob, twang, belting and opera – by practising individually in small groups and integrating them into singing and different genres of music. The days will alternate between classroom presentations, practice sessions in small groups and open session.

 The Level One course teaches the tools to control vocal instrument. Students will learn EVT’s Figures to use better vocal structures are useful to sing every musical genre or to play every character. 

 The Level Two course teaches how EVT’s Figures can be used to mix the "recipes" for 6 voice qualities:  Speech, Falsetto, Sob, Twang, Opera, and Belting.

Discussion and application to the vocal styles of the Level Two.

This workshop is open only to those students who have already complete Level One and Level Two courses.
