This course is for anyone who would like to improve their singing or speaking voice—singers, actors, vocal coaches, drama instructors, Speech-Language Pathologists and other vocal health professionals. Level One: Figures for Voice™ teaches the tools of the craft to add strength, clarity and stamina to your voice! Participants will use EVT’s innovative Figures for Voice™ to learn control of the vocal structures that influence voice quality. Each Figure employs exercises that will give you new vocal options for all styles speaking and singing.  Throughout the day, the new voice skills are practiced in small group sessions. There will also be ample time for questions, discussion, and work on individual repertoire or case studies. 

The Complete Estill Course

This complete course in Estill Voice Training is open to voice teachers, singers and speakers as well as singer/songwriters, music producers, dancers and all other voice users. Estill is craft for singers, like fingering for the pianist, the gym for athletes, ballet for dancers or grammar for language.

Learn basic anatomy, how the voice physically functions and how to control the components that change voice quality through kinesthetic perception and muscle training. Emphasis on aesthetic freedom and vocal safety across all styles and genres – from rock to opera, jazz to belting!

Level 1

In Level One, participants will accomplish a basic understanding of vocal anatomy and the physiology of the larynx. The students will be able to increase their kinesthetic perception and maximize their control over their “reed”-instrument. The scientifically researched figures or muscle training exercises allow the voice user to individually monitor, control and adjust all researched muscular structures involved in sound production and therefore safely produce any style or genre specific voice quality.

Each participant will receive individual feedback and monitoring to ensure that all concepts are understood and applied correctly. From the start, the emphasis will be on singing and speaking, both individually and as a group to reinforce technical ideas and ensure correct training of muscle memory.

Level 2

During Level Two, participants will develop mastery of 6 archetype vocal qualities including Speech, Falsetto, Twang (nasal and oral), Sob, Opera and Belting. Additionally, contemporary, classical, and music theatre voice qualities will be studied in order to create a better understanding of how the work can be applied on stage, in the studio and in rehearsals. The client will be supplied with a toolbox of muscular skills, anatomically correct vocabulary and the confidence that anyone can train the muscles of their voice in order to achieve any aesthetic goal.

Finally, students will be able to participate in a master class in order to apply the tools learnt in a group/performance environment. Singers may present pieces of their own choosing, ideally with problems to be solved. There is no pre-requisite nor audition for this course.

This course is presented by Dorte Hyldstrup - one of Europe´s most experienced Estill Voice Training Course Instructors. 

It´s open to anyone with an interest in learning about the voice, f.ex. singers, voiceteachers, actors, clinical voice professionals etc.

We will begin with an introduction to the Estill Voice Model, then work with all the figures in Level One by practising individually in small groups and integrate the "figures" into singing in different genres of music.

The days will alternate between classroom presentations, practice sessions in small groups and open sessions.

 NIVEL 2 INTENSIVO LOGOPEDAS

 Este curso de 2 dias repasará las Figuras Obligatorias aprendidas en Nivel 1 y a continuación se presentarán las 6 calidades vocales del Nivel 2 (Voz Hablada, Falsete, Llorar/Llanto, ‘Twang’, Belt y Opera.)

Se dirige especialmente a logopedas y otros profesionales de terapias de la voz (otorinos, foneatras, profesores de canto con especial interés en la recuperación de la voz profesional etc) Los asistentes tendrán la posibilidad de practicar en grupos pequeños con ayudantes titulados y de hablar de la aplicación clinica del modelo Estill, tanto en general como en casos particulares.

INTENSIVE LEVEL 2 FOR SPEECH THERAPISTS

 This 2 day Level 2 course will revise the Obligatory Figures presented in Level 1 and introduce and practise the six voice qualities which comprise Level 2 (Speech, Falsetto, Cry/Sob, Twang, Belt and Opera. The course will be spefically aimed at Speech Therapists and Pathologists and other professionals connected with the care of the professional voice. Participants will put each of the qualities into practice and discuss their clinical application. There will also be the opportunity to discuss individual case hstories

Alberto ter Doest geeft op u op zeer enthousiaste en toegankelijke wijze inzicht in de technieken van Estill Voice Training. Tijdens de level 1 cursus legt hij een stevige basis zodat u zelf heel gemakkelijk verder kunt werken met deze succesvolle techniek. De cursus is heel praktisch vormgegeven, want u alleen kunt voelen hoe uw stem klinkt als u gebruik maakt van EVT. U mag het meteen uitproberen zodat u ook na de cursus weet hoe u verder kunt oefenen met het materiaal.

Deze cursus is ook te combineren met level 2, in het weekend van 28 en 29 april.
