The Complete Estill Course
Estill Training is craft for singers, like fingering for the pianist.

Practice independent voice motor control. Understand advanced anatomy and how the voice physically and acoustically functions. Control the components that change voice quality through kinesthetic perception and muscle training.

Emphasis on aesthetic freedom and vocal safety across all styles and genres – from rock to opera, jazz to belting!

Level 1 – Compulsory Figures
In Level One, participants will accomplish an advanced understanding of vocal anatomy and the physiology of the larynx. The students will be able to increase their kinesthetic perception and maximize their control over their “reed”-instrument. The scientifically researched figures or muscle training exercises allow the voice user to individually monitor, control and adjust all researched muscular structures involved in sound production and therefore safely produce any style or genre specific voice quality.
Each participant will receive individual feedback and monitoring to ensure that all concepts are understood and applied correctly. From the start, the emphasis will be on singing and speaking, both individually and as a group to reinforce technical ideas and ensure correct training of muscle memory.

Level 2 – Figure Combinations
During Level Two, participants will analyze and develop mastery of 6 archetype vocal qualities including Speech, Falsetto, Twang (nasal and oral), Sob, Opera and Belting. Additionally, contemporary, classical, and music theatre voice qualities will be studied in order to create a better understanding of how the work can be applied on stage, in the studio and in rehearsals. The client will be supplied with a toolbox of muscular skills, anatomically correct vocabulary and the confidence that anyone can train the muscles of their voice in order to achieve any aesthetic goal. 
Finally, students will be able to participate in a master class in order to apply the tools learnt in a group/performance environment. Singers may present pieces of their own choosing, ideally with problems to be solved. There is no pre-requisite nor audition for this course.

A level one course with Alberto ter Doest in Nijmegen. in this level we will explain the figures related to some basic Qualities. We will explain where we are working, how much effort we need, what the anatomy. We will train the figures in smaller groups and sing songs in different styles to learn how the figures are used.  With Voice print software, audio and video's we support and explain what we hear and doing with all the voice qualities that we can make. A course for singers/speakers/teachers/conductors/actors and all other voice related enthusiastics.

Hij gebruikt zijn expertise als zanger/ vocal coach en artistiek manager van de muziektheater academie in Rotterdam. Hij doet onderzoek naar de stem en geeft presentaties op alle grote Stem Symposia als Pevoc 09 en Pas en deelt zijn kennis over alle nieuwe inzichten en methodes in deze level 1 cursus.

IN deze cursus leren we alle figuren die gerelateerd zijn aan de basisikwaliteiten. U kirjgt uitleg hoe ze werken en waar, hoeveel moeite u doet en in welke spieren. de figuren worden getraind in kleine groepen zodat u ervaart hoe het bij u klinkt en werkt. We zingen songs in verschillende stijlen om te leren hoe de figuren kunnen worden toegepast en u met een veelheid aan kleuren leert zingen en begrijp wat u doet. Voiceprint software en audio en video materiaal ondersteunt de gehele kursus waardoor u ziet en hoort wat er precies gebeurd bij alle verschillende klanken  die we kunnen maken. The Level Two course teaches how EVT’s Figures can be used to mix the "recipes" for 6 voice qualities:  Speech, Falsetto, Sob, Twang, Opera, and Belting.

The Level One course teaches the tools to control vocal instrument. Students will learn EVT’s Figures to use better vocal structures are useful to sing every musical genre or to play every character.

In this intensive workshop you will receive an introduction to the Figures and Qualities provided in Estill Voice Training and learn how to apply this model from audition process to role preparation to mangaing fatigue over an 8 show week. Must-have information for aspiring and active Broadway performers.

This course is useful for singers, actors, teachers, coaches, students and speech-pathologists interested in understanding and solving specific vocal problems with researched based solutions. Level One: Figures for Voice™ teaches the tools of craft to add strength, clarity and stamina to your voice! Participants will use EVT’s innovative Figures for Voice™ to learn to describe the discrete features of voice quality as well as learn to control the 13 individual vocal tract structures for a more versatile voice. 

Each Figure employs exercises that will give you new vocal options for all styles of speaking and singing including Pop, Rock, Contemporary Musical Theater, Opera, Jazz, Folk and Speaking for the Stage.  Throughout the weekend, the new voice skills are practiced in small group sessions. There will also be ample time for questions, discussion and work on individual repertoire or case studies.

This Level Two Course (Qualities) , led by Tom Burke with Robert Sussuma's assistance, will bring focus to the fun while exploring Estill's 6 Basic Voice Qualities (Speech, Falsetto, Twang, Belt, Sob and Opera). This Course will also serve as prelude to the more nuanced and detailed work of the Level One Course (Figures and Combinations) to be held in July.  This course will include discussion, presentations, open coachings and more.  All are welcome!   

 This one-day Estill Certification workshop will serve as the jumping off point for students interested in persuing the Estill CMT (Certified Master Teacher). The goal of the workshop is to help potential candidates who have taken the ESTILL NYC Courses in May, June and July (or any other official Estill Level I and II Courses in the U.S. or abroad--course certificates will be required as proof of attendance) and feel ready to take the next steps toward certification come to clarity regarding the process ahead. The instructors will explain the expectations and requirements for CMT Certification, as well as provide individual coaching time during which each viable candidate will meet with the instructors to devise a personalized 9 month course of study that will (if all requirements are met) culminate in the passing of the CMT written and VoicePrint exams. The hope is that if and when both of these exams have been passed, the candidate will then assist and be observed teaching during the next ESTILL NYC Courses in Spring/Summer 2013.
