This first-ever North American CMT-CCI Summit will be held over the 2 days leading into the National Association of Teachers of Singing Convention (June 29 to July 3) at the Renaissance Orlando at Seaworld resort. CCIs will meet in a private session from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. CMTs & CCIs will gather for a lively exchange of Estill Voice Training pedagogy and practice on Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We hope that many Estill attendees will remain to participate in the NATS Convention. Information and links regarding lodging will appear here shortly.

This course is open to anyone who has already taken the Estill Level One course -- singers, voice teachers, actors, clinical voice professionals, etc. The course begins with an overview of the development of the Estill Voice Model and an overview of this course. We will then work through all the voice qualities: speech, falsetto, sob, twang, belting and opera - by practicing individually and integrating them into singing and different genres of music. The days will alternate between lecture presentations, video research, audio examples, practice sessions and open sessions. There is a Level One Course immediately prior to this course. If you register for both Level One & Level Two you pay 700 Euro and save 90 Euro. |

Esta introducción forma parte del curso pero es también posible asistir solo a la introducción. El curso de Nivel 1 continua a partir de las 18.30 (ver horario). Este curso esta dirigido a cualquier persona con interés en comprender y mejorar la voz, profesionales de la voz, cantantes, actores profesores, foniatras, logopedas, directores de corales……… Estill Nivel 1, Las Figuras Obligatorias para el Control de la Voz, consiste en entender, aislar y dominar la fisiología de las estructuras anatómicas que contribuyen a la producción vocal. El método pretende despejar el misterio existente en el entrenamiento vocal. El trabajo alterna sesiones de teoría con la practica de las figuras en grupos pequeños, Hay la oportunidad de aplicar el trabajo a canciones y textos en sesiones tipo Master Class. El Sábado tarde habrá una presentación a cargo de Queralt Botey en como aplicar las Figuras de Estill a la rehabilitación vocal. |

Level One: Compulsory Figures for Voice™ teaches the tools of the craft. This course is appropriate for singers, actors, speech language pathologists, and voice teachers. Singers and speakers will learn how to add strength, clarity, range, and stamina to the voice. Teachers and speech pathologists will gain a host of new tools to use in solving common vocal problems and perhaps even a trick or two for the unusual vocal complaint. EVT is applicable to ALL styles of speaking and singing. Participants will use EVT’s innovative training Figures™ to control vocal structures that maximize versatility in speech and song. The Level One course offers a clear understanding of the voice’s limitless possibilities, along with how to keep it vibrant and healthy. Participants will apply their new skills in small group practice sessions. There will also be ample opportunity for questions, discussion, and open coaching sessions. Level Two: Figure Combinations for Six Voice Qualities guides participants to develop mastery of six archetype voice qualities – Speech, Falsetto, Sob, Twang (oral and nasal), Opera, and Belting. These qualities can be brought to musical theatre, contemporary, and classical music literature, contemporary, “heightened,” and character speech for actors, and incorporated effectively into any form of oral communication in the workplace (speeches, lectures, interviews, etc.) In each case, participants will learn to trouble shoot and solve problems. Participants will receive individual feedback and monitoring to ensure all concepts are understood and applied correctly in order to achieve any aesthetic goal. Master classes will be held on the last two days to provide volunteer participants an opportunity to apply what they've learned to a song, monologue, poem, or speech. This course is being taught by Kerrie Obert and Steven Chicurel, both of whom are Estill Certified Course Instructors with Testing Privileges and Service Distinction. Ms. Obert is a clinical voice pathologist at The Ohio State University in the Dept of Otolaryngology. She also serves as the Director of Medical Arts at the University and the Co-Director for the Singing Health Specialization. Dr. Chicurel is a Professor of Theatre/Musical Theatre Voice Specialist at the University of Central Florida. Ms. Obert and Dr. Chicurel are the co-authors of Geography of the Voice: Anatomy of an Adam’s Apple. This course of 20 two hour sessions in the Estill Voice Model for begins with workshops in anatomy, physiology and acoustics and continues by covering Jo Estill’s Compulsory figures for Vocal Control. On this occasion, it is aimed particularly at voiceover and dubbing professionals working mainly in the studio. Students will have the opportunity to put each of the figures into practice and to apply the model to their particular work environment. There will also be a chance to practise the model in group singing using harmonic music and chants. Este curso de 20 sesiones de dos horas en el modelo Estill empieza con talleres en anatomía, fisiología y acústica y sigue con la presentación de las Figuras Obligatorias de Control de la Voz descritas por Jo Estill. Se dirige especialmente a esos profesionales de la voz que van a trabajar en doblaje. Los asistentes tendrán la oportunidad de practicar las figuras y aplicarlas a su ámbito profesional particular. This course is presented by Dorte Hyldstrup - one of Europe´s most experienced Estill Voice Training Course Instructors. Its open to anyone with an interest in learning about the voice, f.ex. singers, voiceteachers, actors, clinical voice professionals etc. The course begins with an introduction to the Voice Qualities and an overview of the evolution of the Estill Voice Model. After a short review of the figures in Lev One we will work us through all the voice qualities, speech, falsetto, sob, twang, belting and opera - by practising individually in small groups and integrating them into singing in different genres of music. This course is presented by Helga Westmark, who was one of the first Certified Course Instructors in Europe – so-called Vanguards. This Advanced 1 workshop is mostly for people who have attended Level One & Two courses at Institute Rummel. The course will focus on repetition and more advanced exercises of Level One & Two, some variations of qualities and analysis of problems & solutions/Pedagogical issues. We will mostly work practically and integrate figures and qualities into music and also have time to focus on individual coaching/training.
